Every city is built twice: first in concrete, then in memory.
Behind the Tin Sheets has spent the last fifteen years looking for the second city. Made through long relationships with construction workers from across India employed to build the Bangalore metro, the project follows stories of labour, ghosts, love and waiting.
The films changed during the pandemic. As workers were asked to leave the city they had built, Saboot / Evidence and the ongoing Ghatna / Incident and Sukoon / Relief became part of that journey, made from phone footage, conversations and shared acts of care.
